Who runs G2G

Cameron, who runs G2G

Hi, I’m Cameron. I’m based in the UK and graduated with a 2:1 in Cybersecurity Management.

I started G2G to help people who don’t think of themselves as “techy” get to grips with new gadgets, software and AI: what’s worth buying, how to use it, and how to stay safe while you do.

What we do

G2G stands for Get to Grips. The site has four parts. Buy is our buying guides, the Guide to Gadgets: each one ends in the same three verdicts, one Pick, one Budget pick and one product to Skip, so you can stop reading the moment you have your answer. Learn is short, plain-English guides to using your phone, computer and AI tools. Stay Safe is online security in plain English: spotting scams and protecting your accounts, written by Cameron, who has a degree in cybersecurity management. Get Help means you can email a real person with your question, in your own words.

We cover everyday tech that most people buy without much fuss: chargers, power banks, earbuds, smart plugs, phone mounts and desk gear, mostly under $100 / £100.

Why the Skip matters

Most buying guides only tell you what to buy. We also name a popular product we would steer you away from, with a reason you can check yourself, such as a battery too big to fly with or a feature that is missing for the price.

How you can trust us

Every verdict is checked on the maker's own product page and on a US and a UK store before it goes on the site, and each guide shows the date it was checked. Each verdict is marked Tested if we used it ourselves or Researched if we judged it from specs, safety rules and independent reports. We never mark a researched pick as tested.

How we make money

When you buy through some links on this site we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes which products we pick or which ones we tell you to skip. Details are on our affiliate disclosure.
