Our process
- Frame the job. We start with what the reader needs, such as a power bank that is allowed on a plane, and the four to six things that decide it.
- Compare six to eight products. We shortlist current models sold in both the US and the UK, including the bestsellers people ask about.
- Verify every verdict. Before a product gets a verdict we open the maker's own product page to confirm the model and every spec we show, then a US and a UK store page to confirm it is in stock and what it costs. If we can't confirm it in both countries, it can't be a verdict.
- Choose three verdicts. The Pick is best for most people, not just the highest spec. The Budget pick does the core job for clearly less money, and we say exactly what you give up. The Skip is a product you are likely to consider, with a concrete reason to avoid it.
- Show our sources. Every guide lists the pages we relied on and the date we checked them.
Tested and Researched
Tested means we used that exact product ourselves.
Researched means we judged it from the maker's specs, safety rules, independent tests and owner reports, without using it. We never mark a researched pick as tested.
Prices
Prices change daily. Every price on the site says when we checked it and where. We quote the brand's own store when big retailers can't be checked, so you may find it cheaper elsewhere.
Money never picks
We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. Brands can't pay to be included, to change a verdict or to avoid being a Skip.
Updates and corrections
We review each guide at least every three months and update the date when we do. If you spot something wrong, email hello@g2ggadgets.com and we will check it and fix it.
